It seems like the only time I get to blog is early on a weekend morning. It's too dark to take pictures, too early to start the sewing machine, and I'm not awake enough to trust myself knitting without having to undo it later.
The animal prints are doing VERY well. I've been getting updates from Sabrina and she's down to 5 (she started with 21)! Yay! I also have a showing schedule for the month of January at Sydney's Cafe in Portland. This is wonderful, I love that people are enjoying the images. I will hopefully be offering them online soon, probably in my etsy shop. I've realized I need a website, but the idea of doing anything more than putting pictures up at the moment makes my head spin. If only I didn't have that whole real job thing to contend with or the other projects I keep creating.
Other projects (aka things I do not have time to do, but stupidly do them anyways):
I'm sewing a dress for an event my office is going to this week. We decided to all dress up in vintage, retro 50'sish kind of things. Great idea in theory, until I started trying them on and my broad shoulders make it impossible to fit into. So 1 vintage vogue pattern, 3 trips to the fabric store and we're almost done. This project has consumed my week, the dress has been reworked a lot, and every time I go to the fabric store 3 hours of my day disappear. Fabric Depot is literally a black hole. I have no idea what happens in there, what I do or what i'm thinking. It usually takes a phone call from a loved one to snap me into reality and help me exit the store.
The dress had a few issues, or the sewer did. I keep thinking I'm 2 sizes bigger than I really am, the color I chose isn't as flattering as I thought, and it needed an underskirt so it didn't look like 3 yards of fabric wrapped around my waist. Sewing always becomes a much bigger endeavour (and hours upon hours of time) than I anticipate, you'd think I'd learn. Pictures to come.
Sweater 1 & sweater 2 & the hat stuffed in a bag. Knitting projects that are slowly growing and/or being ignored. In an attempt to power through them (Christmas present and such) I've placed them strategically around the apartment so that I can work on them whenever I sit down. This attempt isn't working and I spend most of my time looking for the directions, pencil, measuring tape or needles.
Pictures to come!
